History of MAFEPE
MAFEPE is MANUFACTURAS FERNANDEZ PELLICER.
Pedro Fernández founded the company in 1965, in Zaragoza, and his family, from the beginning, we have tried to maintain it with great care and tenacity, guaranteeing its progress every day, with the incorporation of the most advanced techniques to always offer the best product.
While in Spain the industries of blast furnaces, shipyards and mining were being promoted, in MAFEPE we manufactured by hand the gloves, both leather and mixed. One by one. In an artisan way. With love and many sleepless nights. But it took more than sweat and technique to protect the workers, it was necessary to innovate. And innovate we did. In February 1994, MAFEPE was the first company to certify a leather glove in Spain, demonstrating that we care about being at the forefront of safety and protection; giving character to our URO gloves and our ANETO work protection garments, thinking about ergonomics, comfort and safety. Thinking of you. Innovations such as the additional reinforcement in the so-called “V” zone between the thumb and index finger, in all leather, nitrile and technical gloves. Although it may seem a small detail, it is a particularly fragile area that is now secured thanks to MAFEPE.Innovations such as “thickening”, a greater compression of the fabric in the areas of the glove with greater wear, such as the fingertips or the center of the palm. No two fingertips are the same, and glove protections should not be the same either.
Innovations not only in gloves, but in how to use them, offering the possibility of replacing only the glove of the hand that breaks, instead of the whole pair. If you are left-handed, if you are right-handed, if you use one hand more than the other, why do you have to buy two new gloves?
All these innovations, plus so many sleepless nights, effort and a lot of love to offer the best product, have brought us to where we are today. At MAFEPE we are collaborating with technical textile engineers, chemical engineers, designers and, of course, with our customers, getting involved in their needs, to create the intelligent gloves of the future.
